What we store
When you add a business we store the details you type: name, category, town, and any address, postcode, phone, website, hours and description. We also store the email address, so we can send the confirmation link and so the editor can write to you about the listing. If you tick the box, that email is shown on the public listing. If you do not, it is used only to contact you about the listing.
When you use the contact form we store your name, email and message. A public listing does not need an account password.
Why
To publish the listing you asked for, to check the email address, to review the submission, and to reply to messages. A person reads the listing before it is published.
Cookies
Public pages do not set a cookie. The review page sets one session cookie after the editor logs in. The cookie page describes it.
How long we keep it
A published listing stays up until you ask for it to be changed or removed, or until the editor removes it. A submission that is not published is kept until the editor deletes it. Contact messages are kept until the editor deletes them.
Who else sees it
The public listing shows the business details you chose to publish. We do not sell personal information. Email goes through the mail server the operator sets up. The site is hosted on the operator’s chosen host and may be served through Cloudflare, which handles connection data such as IP addresses in order to deliver the pages. The directory database does not store IP addresses.
